Women’s Shelter

A Safe Place to Begin Again

Our shelter is the first of its kind in Oildale, providing a safe haven for women in need. Located just steps away from the most marginalized areas, our shelter offers a safe place to sleep, a hot shower, food and water, clean clothes, and hygiene items. Guests in the shelter learn about our program and other resources and see firsthand the positive impact healing has had on others who were once in their shoes. At full capacity, our shelter serves 180 women each month, providing essential support to underserved and unseen women in our community.

How does the shelter work?

We take reservations daily for our 6 beds to ensure we can serve as many women as possible. Our goal is to help women experiencing homelessness find long term solutions. They can be connected to a longer term shelter, or other programs if they are ready for life changing steps. Each woman will complete an intake process, required to take a shower, and are given fresh clothes. Their clothes will be washed overnight if they wish. Dinner and snacks are provided as needed. All the women are in bed with lights out at 10:00pm. At 6 am guests are gently awakened, share a cup of coffee and breakfast as they are reminded about resources available and the opportunity to interview for our 1-year discipleship program.
